The History of iPhone Models and Bezel Trimming

If you're a fan of Apple products, you probably have wondered how the company decided to simplify its product line by cutting down the bezels on its smartphones. iPhone X allows you to get a $1,000 iPhone without any bezels and with an OLED LCD display. Face ID replaced Touch ID fingerprint recognition with the iPhone X. This allows you to recognize your face and unlock your phone without your fingerprint.

Apple simplifies its product range

Apple is often criticised for making its product line too complex, confusing consumers. Apple's approach to simplifying the product line would be a more accurate description. Actually, Apple has done this. Apple has simplified the iPhone, iPad, Mac and iPhone lineups to make it easier to understand. The iPhone SE is an updated version of iPhone 5, while the MacBook Pro (15-inch) is more modern.

Apple's approach for reducing bezels

Apple has made efforts to reduce the thickness of its new products, such as the iPad Air 5, iPad mini 6 (and the forthcoming iPhone 14 Max). Apple has already reduced some display bezels in certain iPhone models such as the iPhone 12 or iPhone X which have a higher screen-to body ratio than their predecessors. Expect the new iPhone to have the same bezel width than the iPhone 12.

Features of iPhone 13 Series

The iPhone 13 series boasts a brighter OLED screen of 6.1 inches with a 60Hz refresh rate. Its A15 Bionic SoC is powerful enough to run most heavy apps as well as play all your favorite games. The cameras on this phone are fantastic, offering high-quality video and stills. Two modes are available on the new camera: Photographic and Cinematic. iOS 15 keeps everything running smoothly. The storage options are varied depending on how large and complex the device is.

iPhone 13's base model has a 20% reduced bezel

The new iPhone 13's bezels have a thinner profile than the iPhone 13 base model. The iPhone 13's base model has a bezel that measures 2.42mm thick. The Pro Max's bezel measures 1.95mm. Apple may have made this change to allow for more room between the top bezel and cutouts. The cutouts will now rest 2.29mm below your top bezel.

OLED technology was used to create the display panels for the iPhone XS Max & XS Max.

The display panel on iPhone XS/YS Max was made with an organic light-emitting dime (OLED), which means they do not need a backlight. This makes them more precise and has a higher contrast ratio. Furthermore, each individual pixel of the display can be calibrated before shipment to ensure it is as accurate and precise as possible.
